This flash piece is inspired by the Patty Pal toy from the SpongeBob episode “Yours, Mine and Mine.” I wanted to turn it into something a little more chaotic, so I added the realistic spatula inspired by classic american trad imagry. The design keeps the colors bright and playful, but still has enough contrast and weirdness to make it feel like a solid tattoo instead of just a straight cartoon reference. It’s goofy, nostalgic, and a little unhinged in the best way. This would be a fun piece for someone who wants a SpongeBob tattoo that’s recognizable, but still feels more like a custom flash design than a screenshot from the show.
