About this piece

This flash design is a sailor inspired Marlin fish with a mix of bold traditional elements and more realistic black and grey shading. The Marlin fish has been caught with a spear and rope, to tie everything together I add small red accents to give the design some movement and a little extra bite. I wanted this piece to feel nautical without being too plain or classic. The spear and rope keep it rooted in traditional tattoo imagery, while the fish has more detail and contrast to make it feel a little sharper. This would work best on an arm or leg where the shape can flow naturally with the body.
